Westminster Reference Library book launchmay 18th 2011

As the late Eve Arnold described: "If a photographer cares about the
people before the lens and is compassionate, much is given. It is the
photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument." Much was given
on the evening of the book launch and exhibition at Westminster
Reference Library on May 18 2011.

In light of the book subject matter capturing portraits of single
minded artists in action, the launch would not be complete without a
performance. Jonzi D of 'Breakin Convention' (Sadlers Wells, London)
entertained and also provoked thought with spoken word and dynamic
poetry. Kingsley gave a background on the ideas, inspiration and
vision behind Flip the Script and Rosella Black, curator for the
exhibition space, described the special value of libraries despite the
increasing government cuts. A big thanks to the many guests that
attended and helped make the launch that much more special.
